CBT helps patients become more aware of how their thoughts and not the events affect how they feel and act. Changing the way we automatically respond to our life affords us the opportunity to improve our overall functioning in a very profound way.
We specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, OCD, post traumatic stress, and grief/bereavement.
Our number one priority is to improve the well-being of our patients by helping them find a more complimentary approach to their daily life. We want to help you break free from old habits, developing
healthy coping skills and finding new ways to respond to life's challenging situations. We provide individual
psychotherapy, relationship
counseling, group therapy and other
services.
For additional treatment services not mentioned here, please feel free to contact us.
Individuals join a trained therapist for one-on-one consultations in a safe and open setting. Weekly individual therapy sessions generally last 50 minutes. Session frequency and the length of treatment are discussed at the begin of treatment. As progress is made, session frequency reduces to strengthen your progress and work towards finishing.
Therapy should not be a passive experience. Rather, it should be an interactive experience which provides a clear approach, based on current empirical evidence, that makes sense and is tailored to you. What you learn and practice in therapy will be integrated into your daily life without the need for a therapist. You will become your own therapist.
For couples who have run into emotional trouble or just want to make sure their relationship gets off to a healthy start, relationship counseling is highly valuable.
Each person will be assessed seperately and confidentially to determine their individual needs and their needs in their couple's work.
Treatment goals will be discussed as a couple. Similar to individual sessions, noted above, the same structure is applied.
Each person in the relationship comes with their own ways of viewing themselves, relationships, and life. In CBT, understanding these aspects of ourselves and our partner will provide insight and enable couples a more effective way to apply skills introduced in session.
Therapist-led group therapy is useful both as a supplement
and an alternative to individual therapy. It provides real-life feedback and interaction among the patients.
Our groups provide a structured, goal driven experience designed to create change. This is accomplished by keeping our groups small and by using materials considered the gold standard in the field. We provide "closed groups" such that groups begin and end with the same members.

No matter if you are working with a therapist in a group or individually, therapy should not be more stressful, or an additional source of concern. All experiences negative, and positive are helpful sources of information to use throughout your treatment process. Your therapist is here to support you for success in reaching your goals.
