Chris Tammariello, LCSW, Director

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CA #LCS19544) has been practicing as a psychotherapist since   1992. He received a B.A. in Psychology from UC San Diego and a   Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University. In 1986 he began his clinical experience at UCSD where he served as  coordinator for a clinical research project, funded by the National   Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, examining the relapse   patterns of teens. He subsequently gained extensive experience   providing therapy to children, adults, and families at Children’s Hospital Center for Child Protection.  Mr. Tammariello also coordinated a court education program  for child victims that became a model program in the U.S.   Later he helped to establish a day treatment program for trauma reactive teens in the North County where he applied his trauma expertise by supervising treatment staff and by providing intensive, structured treatment to teens. He is the Founder and President of the San Diego Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Consortium.  It's mission is to promote the standards and quality of CBT being offered by all clinicians in San Diego County.

 

Mr. Tammariello completed his  advanced training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy in 2001, and is now one of the few San Diego therapists certified as a Cognitive Therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.   Chris is trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy  (MBCT). He specializes in treating adults with depression, anxiety, phobias and panic. Chris also has extensive experience treating problems associated with trauma.

LeAnna Aubel, MA, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has worked as a psychotherapist for over 20 years. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Cal State San Bernardino and a MA in Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Chapman University. In  her clincal experience to date, she has become adept in treating children, youth and families as well as become knowledgable in treating trauma, at-risk populations, chemical dependency and severe psychiatric disorders.

 

LeAnna began her clinical training in 1994 by providing crisis interventions, advocacy and counseling to victims of rape.  Her early experience also included: working with teens caught in the juvenile court system,  providing advocacy for patients detained in the county mental health system, and working as a clinician in an intensive treatment program for incarcerated women.

 

LeAnna’s knowledge and expertise with treating children, teens, young adults and families developed from her work at theRedlands Counseling Center and Trinity Children and Family Services both as a therapist and as a clinical supervisor.  

 

LeAnna played a crucial role in the creation  of  a specialized prevention program for people at risk for drinking and drug related problems and her work in major inpatient and intensive outpatient programs in Southern California 

 

The culmination of LeAnna's extensive clinical experience qualified her to become a adjunct instructor for Sage College educating first and second year paralegal students on the subject of psychology and marriage and family therapy. 

 

In  2007  she began her specialization into evidence-based treatment with advanced training provided by The Beck Institute.

Since 2011 LeAnna served as an Intensive Outpatient Therapist with Tri-City’s Behavioral Health Program running evidence-based treatment groups for adults dealing with mood disorders, substance use, anxiety and symptoms of psychosis. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Services is fortunate to have LeAnna running its treatment groups and providing individual therapy.
